Supports communities in achieving meaningful well-being transformation through public policy.

Emily serves as the national point of contact during the Transformation phase of Blue Zones Project and Blue Zones Activate projects, collaborating closely with local teams to advance action plans aligned with the community’s goals. Most recently she led policy transformation initiatives for Blue Zones Project Walla Walla Valley. Previously, Emily designed and implemented a statewide Main Street Initiative on behalf of North Dakota’s Governor’s Office and led federal anti-poverty and housing initiatives in collaboration with Tribal nations through the USDA Rural Development Office. Emily also has experience with local planning, food systems development and community organizing. 

Her passions for health equity and public policy change led her to her first role with Blue Zones Project in 2020. Emily holds a master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental science from Willamette University.
