Jaclyn Cheves brings an extensive background in public health, policy, and program development, along with a deep passion for effecting positive change through community empowerment. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist with a background in Sports Medicine and 15 years of public health and policy experience working with small nonprofits and large health care organizations as well as local, state, and federal government agencies. She came to Blue Zones from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, where she was a government affairs liaison to the Board of Supervisors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jaclyn launched her career at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an epidemiologist after receiving her Masters in Public Health from Emory University. Since then, she has found her love for implementing policy, systems, and environmental change in communities across the U.S. to help make the healthy choice, the easy choice. Her accomplishments include creating the Youth Policy Leaders program in San Francisco, empowering youth to advocate for health equity policies such as smoke-free multi-unit housing, and helping advance a fresh produce and cottage foods ordinance as a member of the food policy council in her hometown of Denver, Colorado.
