Our community-led initiatives are so effective because we create lasting impact by changing the environment in which people live, work, and play. Creating a healthier environment is the foundation to reducing healthcare claims and costs, increasing workforce productivity, and changing the culture of well-being in the community. Becoming a Blue Zones community is a three-phase process, and Phase II, Blue Zones Activate, begins the foundational work of improving food policy and built environment policies immediately.
Blue Zones engages individual community members through online health and well-being assessments, the True Vitality® Test and True Happiness® Test, and an interactive Blue Zones® Life Challenge. All are available for free to all community members as part of the program. These customized online tools are designed to help raise individual awareness surrounding personal health and well-being, with the goal of increasing overall life expectancy.
The Blue Zones national team is comprised of a range of inspirational, innovative community transformation and well-being experts.
Todd runs the Activate program in Easton as part of the larger Blue Zones Project in the Lehigh Valley region north of Philadelphia. He is an experienced community health professional with extensive experience implementing food, fitness, and lifestyle programs for people of all ages.
Todd began his personal wellness journey while working at the Children’s Home of Easton. After experiencing the transformative power of lifestyle health in his own life, he worked to create a healthier environment for the kids he lived with. From eating fresh food from the house garden to spending time at the YMCA, they too were transformed. This led to the creation of an organization-wide wellness program that featured a series of organic gardens, fruit trees, yoga, mindfulness, and fitness programs. Todd then expanded his community health role when he went to work for St. Luke’s University Health Network. There he continued to work on food, fitness, and lifestyle health programs across the Lehigh Valley and Poconos regions. While at St. Luke’s Todd read the Blue Zones book and immediately incorporated the principles into his evolving lifestyle.
Todd holds a B.A. from Dickinson College and M.S. from Lehigh University, and most recently became a board-certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional (DipACLM) through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Using evidence-based lessons of longevity from the blue zones, we optimize the Life Radius, where we live, work, learn, and play.
Blue Zones Activate focuses on optimizing the Life Radius or the area close to home where we spend 90 percent of our lives.
