Blue Zones: Beyond the kickoff
Since the Klamath Falls Blue Zones Project® kickoff in March the community has ramped up its participation. Now there are two grocery stores, nine restaurants, 10 civic organizations and 17 worksites are working to become Blue Zones Project Approved. To become approved, a worksite or organization must make changes from a list of items and fulfill at least two-thirds of the items on the list. Grocery stores have begun filling end-cap coolers with water, restaurants have been serving fruit instead of fries, and schools are working to improve lunch options. Events are planned for the summer and the Klamath Falls team is working hard to bring change to their community.
