Hospital system becomes Blue Zones standout
The NCH Healthcare System, along with their 4,300 employees, is the first hospital system in the nation to become Blue Zones Certified™. NCH employees are embracing the changes around the hospital. Officials from NCH say they have seen a 54 percent drop in health care spending in the past three years for a combined savings of $27 million. There have also been improvements in employee well-being based on a Gallup-Sharecare measurements, and 34 percent of employees report their body mass index has improved, according to Blue Zones officials.
