The world’s longest-lived people have many things in common, but they circulate around a plant-based diet. In the “Blue Zones,” especially those located in the Mediterranean region of the world, diet has been compared to the Mediterranean diet, but it includes much less fish and seafood consumption that the traditional iteration. A new study shows the most important component of this longevity is the consumption of plant foods, and perhaps not related to seafood at all.
