If you haven’t paired orange and cardamom before, you’re in for a delicious treat! This recipe is easy to prep the night before—set it and forget it—then enjoy it in the morning.

Ingredients

2/3 cup oats

2 tablespoons ground flaxseed

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 teaspoons 100% maple syrup or to taste

2 small to medium oranges, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces

1/2 cup sliced raw almonds

Directions

  1. Combine the oats, flaxseed, ginger, cardamom, and salt, if using, in a bowl. Stir well to combine.
  2. Add the almond milk, vanilla, and maple syrup to the mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Divide the mixture into 2 serving bowls or small mason jars. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  4. To serve: Top each serving with orange pieces and sliced almonds.
