Blue Zones by the Numbers
Blue Zones Origins
Dan Buettner, Blue Zones founder, is a National Geographic Fellow and Explorer, Guinness World Record holder, and New York Times bestselling author. He identified the five original blue zones–the places in the world with the healthiest, longest-living populations. Buettner’s Blue Zones research helped shift the global understanding of longevity, spotlighting plant‑slant eating, social connection, stress, and community design long before they became central to public‑health conversations.
